Blaine and his pictures of Kurt.
Blaine is having a bad day. First he forgot his Calculus homework and got embarrassed by the teacher in front of the whole class, then he heard some guy making fun of his hair in the hallway, he spilled milk all over his pants, and he just really doesn’t feel like staying after school for glee club. And the worst part is that he doesn’t even have anybody to vent to or have a shoulder to rest his head on.
That was always Kurt. Kurt always let Blaine talk it out or made fun of him a little to get Blaine to smile, just knowing Kurt was waiting for him got Blaine through most of the day. But now that Kurt was in New York, all Blaine had was a phone call .
Blaine checked the time on his phone as he walked toward his locker to get books for his next class. He smiled a little when he saw a text from Kurt.
Call me when you see this, I have the afternoon off :)
Blaine pressed call, and slid the phone between his cheek and shoulder as he put in his locker combination.
It rang twice.
“Hey, Stranger.” Blaine smiled and opened his locker.
“You’ll never believe what Isabelle is letting me take home! She…”
Blaine let the familiarity of Kurt’s voice wash over him as he listened and got his things. He was just about to close his locker when two pairs of sparkling eyes caught his attention. He remembers the day they took the picture. Mrs. Pillsbury had asked them to stay after school to help her with spring cleaning and they had snuck off and roamed the empty hallways together for a moment. He stared at the picture of Kurt and himself, along with Kurt’s voice and pretended for a minute.
“…Blaine? Are you still there?”
Blaine shook his head to regain his thoughts. “Huh? Oh-yeah, that’s amazing Kurt.”
” Why do I get the feeling you weren’t really listening? ” Kurt said not sounding upset. When Blaine didn’t answer Kurt continued. “Is it one of those days?”
Blaine is still silent when he stares at the picture and his eyes start to water.
“I miss you, ” Blaine’s voice cracks and he takes a deep breath. “Kurt. I miss you so much.”
“I love you, Blaine. I’m always here, okay? I miss you so much, but whenever I feel like I need you I just look at this picture of us on my desk, it’s that one we took together after school that one time when we helped Miss. Pillsbury clean up her office, remember? ”
Blaine hears Kurt’s voice catch a little and he nods. “Yeah.”
And as Blaine finally closes his locker,he thinks he can make it through one more day.
